Our Story
Wild Medicinals was founded in 2017 by herbalist Megan Kendrick. After having her own profound healing experiences using herbal medicines she started the company with the intention of helping others to incorporate the healing powers of herbs into their self care and wellness practices. Wild Medicinals is a multi-faceted brand that offers herbal products, education and clinical consultations. All of our products are expertly formulated and handcrafted. Visit our botanicals page for more information on the local plants we use.
Herbal Medicine
Herbal or plant based medicine is the most common form of healthcare and healing in the world with the majority of the global population relying on plant medicine as their primary form of healthcare. Many of the synthetic medications and cosmetic ingredients in production today are based on compounds naturally found in medicinal plants. There are countless systems and traditions of plant based healing, each differing somewhat depending on the region, however they generally share many of the same approaches to healing and basic philosophies of the natural world and our relationship to it. These systems focus on treating the whole person, not just the symptoms they are experiencing and are aimed at supporting the body back to health. At Wild Medicinals our perspective is mainly from the Western Herbalism and Alchemical systems with additional training in Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Meet Megan Kendrick
Megan Kendrick is a Registered Herbalist (OHA) and owner of Wild Medicinals. She has over 20 years experience wildcrafting, foraging and working with wild edible and medicinal plants. In addition to her training as a herbalist, Megan is a trained chef with a background in fine dining and food television, and has completed several courses in nutrition. Megan believes that empowerment and education are some of the best tools we have for health. She is passionate about, and grateful to be able to share plant wisdom and knowledge through teaching, supporting clients one-on-one in clinic and working in education at Wild Rose College of Herbal Medicine.
Megan grew up feeling most at home in nature and as a child was constantly using flowers and grasses to make magical ‘potions’. She worked for a number of years as a chef, and her interest in food, especially wild foods, led her to begin more seriously studying the medicinal qualities of plants. She began incorporating more herbs into her life and found relief from several conditions that conventional modern medicine had had very little to offer in the way of treatment. After many years of self study, these profound healing experiences inspired her to dive deeper into herbal studies and in 2017 she began her first program with Wild Rose College of Herbal Medicine.
The majority of Megan's training is from the Western Herbal Medicine and Alchemical perspectives, with additional training in Spagyric medicine preparation, Medical Astrology, Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Megan completed her clinical training with Marianne Beacon, RH in January 2022. Along with her formal academic and clinical training consisting of over 2300 hours of study and practice, Megan has also completed hundreds of hours of apprenticeship in various settings including a herbal clinic, a contract manufacturing facility and a herb farm/at risk plant sanctuary.
For Megan, being able to support her friends, family and community’s health, as well as the health of the earth is as great a responsibility as it is a gift. When she's not gardening or working with herbs, you may find her hiking with her dog, singing and playing guitar with one of her bands, reading or cooking.

Our Values
Wild Medicinals is entirely based in the natural world. For this reason, we feel a great responsibility to the land that we grow and harvest our plants on. We approach our work with herbs as a reciprocal relationship. The plants give so much to us, and we are honoured to be able to give back. In return for their gifts, we care for and cultivate many of the herbs we use in our formulations. When harvesting from the wild, we only harvest from healthy and abundant stands on land that we have a personal relationship to after asking permission from the plants and the land. Our business model is designed and intended to be beneficial for everyone involved, including the plants.
We respectfully acknowledge that we live and work on the traditional territory of the Mississauga Anishinaabeg. We offer our gratitude to the First Nations of this territory for their care for and teachings about our earth and our relations. We honour those teachings.
We stand in solidarity with First Nations and respect the treaty rights of this territory. We recognize the history of colonial violence on this land and the ways in which that violence continues on Indigenous territories today. Both as a business and as individuals, we are committed to educating ourselves on local treaty rights and intend to implement meaningful reconciliation practices into our lives and work. In this spirit, Wild Medicinals forwards a portion of our yearly revenue to support indigenous services and land and water protectors who continue to courageously care for and defend the plants and planet from ongoing colonial destruction.
In love and solidarity,
Wild Medicinals Team
